Expatriate Bangladeshi 2000Linking Individuals, Regions, Ideas, and Actions |
Our VisionEB2000 convenes men and women of Bangladeshi origin living in different parts of the world, who represent diverse viewpoints and backgrounds from science & technology, economics & social welfare, education & training, ecology & environment, law & human rights, finance & markets, business, government, and the nonprofit sector. Its goal is to relate timeless ideas and values to the foremost challenges facing societies, organizations, and individuals in Bangladesh. Our Mission
Our ApproachEB2000 is not an undertaking to compete with the existing government and non-government entities in Bangladesh and abroad that are currently involved in the development process. Nor is it to become another avenue for lofty ideals and unrealistic expectations. It is an effort grounded in practicality to complement the existing processes and structures by finding and filling in the gaps in the area of ideas, skills, institutions, projects and co-ordination. It seeks to demystify policy deliberation by inserting in the process not only the diffused community of expatriates but also the isolated rural mass that was overlooked in the information revolution. Above all, it is an effort to find and implement solutions from within our own resources, information and expertise to leave behind a tradition of national pride and dignity for the next generation and beyond. EB2000 has strategic partnership and alliance with a growing number of resident and non-resident Bangladeshi organizations and networks such as, but not limited to, Global Amitech, Bangladesh Environmental Network (BEN), ALOCHONA Bangladeshi Forum, TechBangla, Learn Foundation, Bangladeshi-American Foundation, Shetu Bondhon and the Association for Economic Development Studies on Bangladesh (AEDSB). EB2000 is incorporated in Virginia, USA as of February 12, 1999 and classified as a publicly supported 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. It is currently managed by a fourteen member working committee. More than four hundred and fifty affiliates in twenty five countries are directly connected with the network. Our Contact Information
